I met artists and I felt good.
Yesterday was a good day. I spent the day at ICA debating about the economics of the arts. 'Art is not a commodity' was the stance. I disagreed. But that it's not the main point. The interesting thing was talking with the artists regarding not only their practice but also their condition as workers with proud and dignity. I learnt about the Artist Brigade, the AN and its campaign 'paying the artists'; I also met Sylwia Narbutt and spoke about our relocation in the UK, maternity, her artistic practice, and my process of self-rebranding.
Then, in the evening I was at the opening of 'Eggy and Seedy' in Reading and the place was packed of paintings and artists. I chat with Pavlo Kerestey, Mark Langley, Sam Stead, Robin Matto, Susanne Clausen, and others. I listened to their stories and took the courage to present my Moving Gallery; the idea was welcomed and appreciated and I got out with some suggestions and even offers of collaboration.
Beer helped in these cases.
